Property Management

The Property Management Department

The City's Property Management Department is responsible for the upkeep and enhancement of City-owned properties, ensuring they remain functional, safe, and visually appealing for the community. This includes a wide range of tasks, such as routine maintenance, repairs, and aesthetic improvements to buildings, facilities, and outdoor spaces. The department handles landscaping to maintain healthy, attractive green spaces, performing activities like mowing, trimming, planting, and seasonal clean-up. Seasonal loose leaf collection is also performed by the Property Management Department.

Loose leaf collection begins on November 3, 2025.

The City of Monroe's six leaf trucks operate weekdays during this time. City residents can expect their leaf piles to be vacuumed up at least every 10 to 14 days, but this cycle can be affected by both weather and the volume of leaves.

Residents must place leaf piles at the edge of their yard above the curb, free from foreign debris and away from potential obstructions, while still being within the reach of the leaf trucks. Foreign debris is anything that is not leaves, such as limbs, vines, rocks, and trash, as these items can damage the vacuum equipment.

Obstructions include, but are not limited to parked vehicles, mailboxes, fire hydrants, utility boxes, fences, trees, and landscaping. Due to the risk of damage, leaf piles too close to obstructions or mixed with foreign debris cannot be collected.
