James Vesce, Operations Supervisor has worked for over thirty years as a director and producer of community-based, university, and professional theatre and dance. His work has been performed at New York venues including the Actor’s Playhouse, the Kraine Theater, Teatro LATEA, the International Dance Festival at the Duke on 42nd Street, The Joyce Soho, and The Kitchen, at Jacob’s Pillow in Beckett, Massachusetts, and in Boston at the Strand Theatre, the Institute for Contemporary Art, the Lyric Stage, the World Trade Center, the Shubert Theater, and at New WORLD Theater. He has also composed music featured at the National Black Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. James is former Chair and Associate Professor of Directing in the Department of Theatre at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and an Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. He is thrilled to bring his interest and expertise in performing arts and community-based cultural programming to the Dowd Center Theatre and the city of Monroe.
