Deputy Chief Kindley began his fire service career as a volunteer in 2000. Hired as a Firefighter with Monroe Fire in 2006, he has worked through the department ranks serving as Engineer, Captain, Division Chief of Training, and currently serves as Deputy Chief of Administration, where he oversees the Training Division, Fire Marshal’s Division, planning and research, records management, hazardous materials response, accreditation, emergency management, and ISO rating.
Chief Kindley holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Protection Technology from Coastal Carolina Community College, an Associate’s Degree in Emergency Medical Science from South Piedmont Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science from Fayetteville State University, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from UNC Pembroke. He is a Fire Officer 4, Fire Instructor 3, Paramedic Instructor Level 2, NC Associate Emergency Manager, and is credentialed as a Chief Fire Officer (CFO) through the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE), where he also serves as a peer assessor. Chief Kindley is a 2017 graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program (EFO), and has completed other executive-level fire service and municipal certificate courses, including the NCAFC Chief Officers Executive Development, NCAFC Chief Officers Training Management Program, and Municipal Administration from the UNC School of Government.
