Division Chief Nick Steffler is a dedicated, multi-generational firefighter whose passion for service was inspired by watching his father as a volunteer firefighter. Beginning his career with the Monroe Fire Department in March 2003, Chief Steffler now excels as the Division Chief of Training and Safety. He holds an associate’s degree in Fire Science and a bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration. Chief Steffler has furthered his expertise with certifications from the UNCC Fire and Rescue Management Institute and the NC Chief Officers Executive Development program, along with numerous certifications from the NC Office of State Fire Marshal.
