On October 10th, 2024, Vision NC will conduct smoke testing in the following areas: Lancaster Avenue, Cameron Court, Gate Road, and M.L. King Jr Boulevard on behalf of the City of Monroe Water Resources Department. In case of any delays, the makeup day for the testing will be October 11th, 2024.
Smoke testing is an innovative technology used to identify defects in sewer pipes, service laterals, and other system components by blowing harmless smoke into sewer manholes. This process generally poses no risk or impact to homes or businesses.
In the unlikely event that smoke enters a residence or business, it can be easily dispersed by opening a door or window for a few minutes.
