Thank you for your interest in the City of Monroe’s Dowd Center Theatre.
On Friday, March 13, 2024, the Monroe City Council approved a motion to reevaluate and revise current programming policies and practices at the Dowd. As a result, we are currently not accepting any private rental or programming requests at this time. Our goal is to ensure we have everything in place moving forward to provide the best experience for those renting the theatre, as well as for patrons attending any event at the theatre. We hope to complete this process as soon as possible, and will provide updates as needed.

Please Note: In order to secure an event date, the Dowd Center Theatre requires a non-refundable deposit of $300, which can be applied to the cost of the rental. In addition, no event can be promoted or advertised until a rental agreement is signed and 50% of the rental cost is secured, per our Fee Schedule.
